About the Noot Noot (Pingu) sound
Carlo Bonomi voiced Pingu entirely in improvised nonsense, a technique called grammelot borrowed from Italian clowning. That is how a Swiss claymation penguin from 1986 ended up sounding like nothing else on earth. The noot noot is his declaration, his protest and his greeting all at once, and internet absurdism adopted the lot in about 2012. It has survived every meme cycle since by the straightforward method of being genuinely funny. Play it as a hello, a complaint, or a full rebuttal to an argument you have decided not to engage with. Noot noot.
