About the Laser Zap sound
Descending pitch bend, a bit of noise on the tail, and you are instantly in a cabinet in 1981. Golden-age arcade shooters had barely any audio hardware, so their weapons were built from swept oscillators. Every laser in games therefore sounded broadly the same, and the shape stayed legible long after those hardware limits disappeared. Great for edits needing a pew. Also for scene transitions, or for dramatically pointing at somebody while maintaining an unbroken line of eye contact. Synthesised from scratch in the classic style, so the audio is clean, original and free to use anywhere.
OriginOriginal synthesis in the style of golden-age arcade shooters.
